Suppose that you are one of the colonists at Jamestown. A ship will soon leave for England, and the captain has offered to carry letters from the colonists. Write a letter to a friend or relative who still lives in England. Your letter should follow the correct format for a friendly letter and should include these elements: • Explanation of why you came to Jamestown.
• Description of the colony and its surroundings.
• Hardships or challenges the colonists have faced.
• Ways in which the colony has overcome the hardships or challenges.
• Advice to help your friend or relative decide whether to move to Jamestown. You may recommend coming and give reasons; recommend staying in England and give reasons; leave the decision open or list factors on both sides that your friend or relative should consider in making the decision.
