What Phoenician Colony became very successful in the Western Mediterranean​

Carthage was founded around 814 B.C. When it prospered and grew into a large city, it started to found colonies too. Sicily was colonized by the Phoenicians. Sicilian cities such as Motya, Panormo (Palermo), and Solunto were founded from the eighth century B.C. onward.
