How do you identify yourself in terms of race and ethnicity?

I identify myself as a Hispanic-American individual.

Are there special occasions or situations in which you are more likely to display your ethnicity or race?

Yes. I feel very proud of my Hispanic heritage. And at the same time, I have full respect for American culture. So it is very possible to love both cultures. I do.

I do not hide my Hispanic background. It is part of me. So it is part of my traits as an individual.

Do you identify with more than one racial or ethnic group or know anyone who does?

As I have said, I am very proud to be a Hispanic-American person. I feel good having friends from other races and ethnicities. I do not care what the color of the skin is in other people. For me, they are interesting people that deserve my full respect.

What does this tell you about the origin of these categories?

Unfortunately, these categories were created to dive. And as we see by the recent events regarding race segregation, some people still think race is an important issue.

I support diversity and welcome any form of thinking.

apart from being against desegregation, governor of georgia eugene talmadge opposed as well to the work progress administration, an ambitious program of the "new deal" created by president franklin d. roosevelt to overcome the great depression after world war i. talmadge disagreed with welfare spending, job training and organized labor. according to his ideas, he thought the government was spending too much money on this, and he wasn't willing to accept a wage higher than georgia's lower average wage. besides, talmadge strongly opposed to the "new deal" as he thought it had communist ideas.
