Why was the articles of confederation created?

The Articles of Confederation was first created after the Revolutionary War. It was the first Constitution for the new nation, and it gave the states more power than the central government. It's purpose was to prevent a monarchy like the colonies had experienced with Great Britain before the US won its independence.

It allowed for things to be produced much more quickly and efficiently
