The Tang Dynasty (618-906 A.D.) reunited China for the second time (the first time was by the Qin Dynasty), and is considered the Golden Age of China because it was a period of progress and stability during the first half of its rule. Education was free to boys, while women were home-schooled, people were able to get a job if they passed the examination day, which helped to the increase of wealth and urbanization. Religion was divided by three philosophies, Confucianism, Taoism, and Buddhism, and people practiced the three philosophies at the same time. Poetry was an important part of the Tang Dynasty, and woodblock printing contributed to the development of literature and religious teachings.
