How were egyptian ideas about the afterlife reflected in their treatment of the dead

The Egyptians highly believed in the thought of an afterlife. After death, if a family could afford it, mummify the body of the loved one. This would make the body more presentable to the Egyptian Gods when they are put on trial to see if they will reach "heaven" or "hell". Don't take the expenditures of this lightly because mummifying a body took weeks and careful preparations must be made. Organs were often taken out of the body and placed in jars around the mummy as offerings to the gods and to help them seem more presentable. 

They thought dieing was the best thing in the world but only if you were mummified (when they take your guts out and all that) but if they liked the dead so much why didn't they kill themselves it's because sometimes they wouldn't have the money to be mummified
