Fascism typically takes root in societies with serious economic or social issues; Fascism is seen as an extreme measure to combat the existing problems. Based on this, what are some areas in American society that you feel could lead people to seek similar extreme solutions (either Fascism or some other extremist ideology)? What are some problems that, while serious, are NOT likely to cause an extremist reaction? And what can we as a society do to fix the more serious problems without resorting to extreme measures?
