In a study entitled 'Learning to Labour: How Working-Class Kids Get Working Class Jobs', Paul Willis studied a group of 12 working-class boys during their last year and half at a
Midlands school. He observed 'the lads' in classes, around the school and during their leisure
activities and interviewed several of them together. In these group interviews, he was also
able to observe the social interactions between these boys.
