Marcus is an arsonist (someone who starts illegal fires). He has never injured anyone by starting a fire but he has damaged a great deal of property. Judge Mills has seen him in court several times and is tired of his behavior. She says all of his property is to be burned. He will only get one meal a day and will not receive a blanket or toiletries (toothbrush, toothpaste, toilet paper, etc.) to help make up for the property he destroyed. Were Marcus's rights violated? Why or why not? Explain your answer in complete sentences.
