A psychologist is interested in finding out if the Beck Depression Inventory test gives consistent results. To study this, the psychologists gives 100 individuals who do not report any depressive symptoms the Beck Depression Inventory version A and version B. The 100 individuals were in the normal range on both tests. When the psychologist did the same study on 100 individuals who did report being depressed, they showed up in the depressed range with very similar or identical scores on both version A and version B.
