Explanation:

1) Argumentative writing takes a stance on an issue. In an argumentative essay, the writer tries to persuade readers to go along with their side and viewpoint.

2) A claim is usually the main idea or thesis statement (commonly used in argumentative writing)

3) A reason helps to justify the author's claim and support their argument

4) Evidence is yet another element that helps to support the reason. Both evidence and reasoning solidify the claim

5) In informative/explanatory writing, an author describes facts and true events. Most of the time, this writing is for educational purposes

6) Narrative writing is usually a story. They can be based on made-up or true events.

7) Characterization is similar to creating the "character" (or personality) of a fictional character

8) Internal character traits can describe how that character thinks, feels, and acts inside. (The overall personality of the character that other people might not know as well - the real me)

9) External character traits are basically what everyone sees. In contrast to internal character traits, everyone knows them for having this kind of personality.

10) The setting can be where and when the story is taking place

11) The conflict can be internal or external. Conflict is defined as any problem a character or characters have to face.

12) Protagonists are the "good guys" in a story (usually the main characters)

13) An antagonist can be seen as a "bad guy" that does not support the protagonist's best interests. (Usually tries to hurt them)
