Anse Hatfield is upset that Randolph McCoy built a dam on Grapevine Creek so that he can collect the water to bottle and sell as Mountain Fresh Colorado Water. This has reduced the amount of water in the creek to a trickle by the time it reaches the Hatfield ranch, and now he doesn't have enough drinking water for his cows.
