I would like a society where everyone acts with empathy and compassion. Where the vulnerable are respected and assisted - refugees, the elderly, the homeless, people with mental health problems, addiction, are all treated as human beings, rather than second class citizens.
A society where everyone has a home to call their own.
I would like a society that is not necessarily classless, but where the truly wealthy, are happy to contribute to the vulnerable and needy. Bono, Geldof and gang - people in their position, asking the public to give generously, all well and good, but how about the world's richest and most powerful get together, and put an end to famine and poverty?
I would like a society with a government we can trust to do as they say they will, to listen to what the people want, and to be fair, as well as transparent.
I would like a society that don't judge each other for how they look, what they believe in, who they worship, or who they love.
I would like a society that joins together to look after their environment.
I would like children to grow up wanting to aspire to be the next ground-breaking scientist, or artist, rather than the next brain-dead βcelebβ. I want the next generation of kids to realise their potential, rather than being concerned with looks and sex and fame to get along in life. I want society to stop giving attention to attention hungry nobody's, on T.V and internet, so that the young only have great people to look up to.
I want a society where those who work in education, are enthusiastic, and are encouraged to teach each child as the individuals they are. Where schools are not understaffed and overrun, and where children are not taught to be little zombies, but are taught to be creative, and to think for themselves, as well as being taught the skills they really will need for the real world.
A society where everyone is entitled to free, quality medical care, and where medical staff are not under- staffed, under pressure and exhausted would be great.
I want a society where people have more time for their families, and other things that contribute to their happiness and well-being, instead of working themselves to the ground, to pay for strangers to look after their children, and to keep the wolves from their door.
Most of all, I would like a society without violence. No weapons. No war.
