Baron Von Steyben was the military officer who served as a major general of the continental army during the American Revolution. He taught discipline, tactics and military drill to the American soldiers and the book written by him served as the standard manual for US army. He had served as a lieutenant in the Seven Year's War and was appointed as George Washington's chief of staff. Due to his contributions he is considered as the father of US army.
