What are extended episodes of an emotional state called?

Extended episode of emotional state are commonly referred to as emotions and or mood. Emotions can range from be positive or negative experiences and or feelings that effect both mental and physical behaviors and or mental thoughts and patterns that is associated with a particular patterns related to ones psychological state.
