Vygotsky's work has made a lot of contribution towards children's education and development. In his theory, he makes a clear emphasis on the impact society and culture have on children's learning process. The emphasis is that children's ability to learn is by observing people in their environment that include firstly parents, their siblings, and peers.  

This process of learning is called scaffolding and it is conducted by clearly communicated instruction during this process. Scaffolding is closely related to zone of proximal development (ZPD) which describes any task a child can complete independently and others which require assistance.
