Esta bandera está conformada por tres franjas orientadas horizontalmente, la primer franja es de color azul cielo o azul celeste, la segunda franja es de color blanco y la tercer franja es azul celeste nuevamente. Algunas personas creen que el color blanco simboliza la plata, porque los primeros conquistadores creían que el país estaba lleno de plata.
