The answer would not be B, because nothing comes across as friendly in the text, and you must infer the clown is friendly.

The same goes for C. No tone is conveyed, so the narrator could be really rude and demanding the water, we don't know.

And it is definitely not D. The use of the word "demanded" shows that Kelly is not being even remotely nice.
