Compare the two societies candide encounters in south america

When Candide gets to Eldorado he sees a society where money means nothing. All share the wealth. When he gets to Surinam and meets a slave whose hand and foot were cut off , he realizes that in that society money rules. The slaves tells him "this is the price I paid for people to eat sugar in Europe"
