GPS (Global Positioning Satellite) technology is used widely in automobile travel. Another, less familiar use, of this technology is how it is being implemented in farming. Farmers now utilize GPS to map their land. As they map their land, they also take a sample of the soil and analyze the nutrient content. This gives them a picture of the land and indicates which areas are in need of soil enhancements and which do not require enhancing.
