BRO SOMEONE HELP ASAP AN IF U HELP I WILL GIVE The atmosphere is a blanket of gases that surrounds the planet. It keeps us warm, gives us oxygen to breathe and protects us by absorbing harmful radiation from the sun. It's also where our weather happens.

The atmosphere has different layers, and each layer has different qualities. The layers start from the ground and reach all the way to outer space.

The troposphere is the closest layer to Earth, and it's where almost all weather happens. The troposphere is constantly changing and mixing up the gases in this part of our atmosphere. This layer contains the air we breathe and the clouds in the sky.

The stratosphere is the layer above the troposphere. There are no storms or turbulence here to mix up the air, so cold, heavy air is at the bottom and warm, light air is at the top. The stratosphere is where you'll find the ozone layer, which is very important for the planet. The ozone layer helps protect us from the sun. Without the ozone, Earth would take in too much energy and heat from sunlight.

The next layer is the mesosphere. The air is thin here, so you wouldn't be able to breathe up in the mesosphere. It is also the layer where meteors burn up. These meteors heat up when they hit the air in the mesosphere. That's why they look like shooting stars in the sky.

The thermosphere comes next. The temperature in this layer can reach up to nearly 2,500 degrees Celsius (around 4,500 degrees Fahrenheit). But if you were to hang out in the thermosphere, you would still be very cold. The air isn't dense enough to transfer heat to you. The thermosphere is home to low Earth orbit satellites. Objects with a low orbit circle the Earth at an altitude of 2,000 kilometers (about 1,250 miles) or less. Most human-made objects in space are in a low Earth orbit. The thermosphere is also home to the International Space Station. This is a research station where astronauts live for many months at a time.

The exosphere is the outermost layer of Earth's atmosphere. This layer separates the rest of the atmosphere from outer space, and it extends from the top of the thermosphere up to 10,000 kilometers (around 6,200 miles). The exosphere, which is almost as wide as Earth itself, has no air to breathe, and it is very cold.
