A magnetic field surrounds the earth. what do you think would happen without it?

1. we wouldn’t be able to tilt so no day and night therefore lack of sun and night causing the earth to overheat and be too cold at some point which could kill the whole population.
2. The earth would just float around, we wouldn’t have track of time, and we could float towards the sun or too far away
