The mystery organism in question has just been discovered, and scientists were able to make some pretty interesting observations on it. The mystery
organism is described as being about 4 feet tall and slender in shape. Cell
samples taken from its mouth reveal that it is definitely made up of cells
that contain a nucleus. It also appears to have a small mouth that is used to
eat a food source. This organism also has very large, dark, and bulbed eyes.
Along with having two arms and two legs with a total of 8 fingers and 8 toes,
it also shows signs of having the ability to lay eggs. The organism is also

In 1994, telomerase activity was discovered in human cancer cell lines. although telomerase activity is rarely present in human somatic tissue, this discovery indicated that humans do contain the genes for telomerase proteins and telomerase rna. since inappropriate activation of telomerase may contribute to cancer, why do you think the genes coding for this enzyme have been maintained in the human genome throughout evolution?
