Why would planets with a hydrogen atmosphere be easier to detect than atmospheres with other types of gases? The hydrogen atmospheres are thicker meaning they filter more starlight and can be more easily seen.

Hydrogen atmospheres are very common so there will be a better chance of finding such a planet.

Planets with Hydrogen atmospheres are closer to their stars and we can see their shadows easily.
