What is the fluid mosaic model when talking about the cell membrane? what is selective permeability?

The fluid mosaic model talks about the disposition of hydrophobe and hydrofile molecules in the structure of the cell membrane. And selective permeability means that the membrane allows the passage only of some ions and molecules,while restricting the passage of others,such as glucose for example.
