Adele sees Brian's home during an open house and decides to make an offer to purchase it. The house is listed for $200,000 and Adele only qualifies for a loan of $100,000. Adele does own a home already, however, and that home is worth $150,000. Because Adele will not have the money to buy the new house without selling her own house first, Adele has language put into the purchase offer that her offer is contingent on selling her home.
