What is the purpose of writing shorthand electron configuration using noble gases?

Noble gas electron configurations are easier to write because they are shorter then full electron configurations. They Noble gas shortcut electron configuration is a way of summarizing the information about the electrons of an atom. 

(this is what I used)

93.2 ml + 3920 ml = 4013 ml total  

(93.2 ml) * (2.03 m) / (4013 ml) = 0.0471 m

the volume in in l of the diluted solution would be 0.0471 m.
