When the nail is placed in ordinary water, it gets rusted due to the oxygen present in water.

When nail is placed in boiling water which is covered with oil, so the rust is very small quantity as boiling water also contains some oxygen.

When the nail is placed in calcium carbonate, it absorb all the moisture of air and no rusting takes place.

So, maximum rusting in test tube A and minimum rusting is in test tube C.
