Seems like a part of me will always have to lose, Every single time I have to choose Swore that it felt right, but was I wrong? Is this where I'm supposed to be at all? I don't have the answers, not today , It's like nothing makes the questions go away. What I'd give to see If the grass was greener on the other side. If I could go back and change the past, I would Be a little braver than I had, And bet against the odds, Would I still be lost? Even if I woke up in my dreams, Would there still be something I'm missing? If I had everything, Would it mean anything to me? Feels like I might have broke the best thing that I had, I said too much to ever take it back. Scared I'll never find something as good, And would I even know it if I could? Maybe I should turn around and take the other road, Or maybe I'm just looking for what I already know.

[a] create a class called “cycle” which has two instance integer variables as properties, “numberofwheels” and “weight.” create a constructor with two parameters, using the same variable names in the parameter list. assign each variable to numberofwheels” and “weight” respectively. write a separate application to test the class and display its properties. note: do not change the names of the instance variables or the variables listed in the constructor’s parameter list. [b] edit your class cycle by adding a default constructor which will assign the default values of 100 to represent the numberofwheels, and 1000 to represent the weight, by invoking a call to the other constructor. modify your application created in [a] to test the class.

When making changes to optimize part of a processor, it is often the case that speeding up one type of instruction comes at the cost of slowing down something else. for example, if we put in a complicated fast floating-point unit, that takes space, and something might have to be moved farther away from the middle to accommodate it, adding an extra cycle in delay to reach that unit. the basic amdahl's law equation does not take into account this trade-off. a. if the new fast floating-point unit speeds up floating-point operations by, on average, 2ă—, and floating-point operations take 20% of the original program's execution time, what is the overall speedup (ignoring the penalty to any other instructions)? b. now assume that speeding up the floating-point unit slowed down data cache accesses, resulting in a 1.5ă— slowdown (or 2/3 speedup). data cache accesses consume 10% of the execution time. what is the overall speedup now? c. after implementing the new floating-point operations, what percentage of execution time is spent on floating-point operations? what percentage is spent on data cache accesses?
