everyone in the family was careful around aunt martha. they couldn't predict when she would turn from jekyll to hyde. tim was very young when he first met aunt martha. kelly had warned him that aunt martha was a bit odd. but aunt martha was extremely kind to tim, and he thought his sister was playing a trick on him. then one morning, he understood what kelly had meant when she had said that aunt martha was odd. he was running down the stairs when he bumped into aunt martha. the next minute, aunt martha firmly held his shoulders. she looked very frightening as she growled, “good boys don’t run down the hall.” then she straightened his collar and ruffled his hair and, smiling sweetly, said, “let’s eat pancakes for breakfast.” it was as if nothing had happened.
