Ihave an essay to write and this is about the story "harrison bergeron" by kurt vonnegut. i have it written, but need with the conclusion, here is what i have so far.

in the short story “harrison bergeron”, kurt vonnegut informs the reader how extreme equality can be very dangerous. he uses qualities such as physical abilities, intelligence, and looks which are still important even in a society where everything is made to be equal.
the story “harrison bergeron” by kurt vonnegut takes place in a satirical society. in this society, everyone is set equal. no one is allowed to be pretty, athletic, smart, etc. if they were pretty, they were required to wear a mask at all times to hide their face. if they are athletic, they were required to wear weights to weigh them down. if they were smart, they were required to wear an earpiece at all times that the government had control over. it would play a sound that the government chose to scatter their thoughts. this was to keep people from using unfair advantages of their brains that others could not. they are not allowed to take the equipment off. if they had to wear any of these, they were considered a handicap. harrison bergeron, who was intelligent, good looking, and very athletic, disagrees with the government’s actions and choices.
the government influences on harrison bergeron causes him to revolt and disobey the government. harrison, a good looking, athletic, and smart man, was taken away from his home one april at the age of fourteen by the government. one day when hazel and george, harrison’s parents, were watching tv, a broadcast came out while they were watching ballerinas dancing. the news anchor tried to tell the people what was happening but could not due to his stuttering. a ballerina came up and read that harrison bergeron escaped prison and he is a huge threat. later, he ends up getting into the theatre where the performance is going on. he took off his handicap equipment with ease and asks for a dance. she also takes off her handicap equipment and dances with him. since they disobeyed the law, the handicap general, dianna moon glampers, shot them. harrison did not agree with the government’s actions, which is why he revolted and did what he did. he let the audience see how handicaps were treated.
in the futuristic story “harrison bergeron”, there is equality in the society, but not the equality people generally desire. being set equal to everyone else is not the best option as some people will disagree with this.
