idioms are groups of words in a specific order that form an expression whose meaning is different from the usual meaning of its constituent words. While a phrasal verb is a phrase which consist of a verb in combination with either an adverb or preposition and it can even be both.

A phrasal verb is verb with preposition or verb it is a group of words standing together as a conceptual unit . Examples of phrasal verb are I ran out of milk, I asked Janet out. Etc. while an idiom is a group of words that it’s meaning is not deductible from the individual words. Examples of an idiom are the test was a piece of cake, hero is slowly starting to find his feet, Jude work like a dog everyday, raining cat and dog etc.
