The example of propaganda that I was able to find in The Crucible was in Abigail's character. This is built around the idea of Elizabeth owning the poppet, which was given to her by Mary, making her the supposed cause of Abigail's pain. This would fit under the category of bandwagon propaganda. A common tactic, bandwagon propaganda appeals to the crowd mentality behind peer pressure. The idea of "everyone else is doing it" is a powerful motivation because many people do not want to be perceived as being different or left behind. Bandwagon propaganda often works hand in hand with mob mentality. The way a person processes and makes choices as an individual versus in a group are significantly different.
