At 2:15, Benzino alerted me that Maggie's heart rate was
suddenly elevated. I glanced out the window and didn't see
her in the backyard. "Send out the drone."
Within moments, Benzino was relaying an image of
Maggie leaning against a tree and holding her ankle. We
both trotted out through the backyard and into the woods.
Benzino located Maggie immediately as I followed. Maggie
wrapped her little arms around Benzino and cried, "I knew
you'd rescue me!"
I stood by awkwardly as Benzino began to assess her
injury.
What does the author's word choice most clearly suggest about the narrator's
feelings toward Benzino?
