"Macbeth comes to be the Thane of Cawdor through his brave and courageous personality. He was a soldier that protected his King and Country, working hard to expose the previous Thane's evil nature. It was thanks to Macbeth's efforts that the King awarded him this new title, for his loyalty. The King states, "What he hath lost, noble Macbeth hath won"(1.2) Macbeth fought and won against the previous Thane and Duncan gives him that new role. "
