A metaphor is the comparison of two unlike things. It’s main difference from a simile is that it doesn’t use “like” or “as” to compare the two objects. A simple example includes, “My brother is a pig because he eats so much all the time,l.” Additionally, a more complex example includes, “I had finally coaxed my friend into my web,” which is an implied metaphor since it compares two Uba like things (the subject of the sentence and a spider) without actually mentioning the spider.
