In this essay there was a huge event that has made me change my thoughts and taught me how to stay safe on a horse. It was a good lesson to learn, however I learned it the hard way and I wish it never happened at all. Above all, I learned my lesson with my horse in the ring. She was running away with me on her and I couldn't stay on her, so in addition I had to jump off her while staying calm and not getting hurt.

I was just starting to go horseback riding, something I especially loved. I only got to go on Saturday at three o’clock. I had to prepare the horse first before we rode the horse in the ring. My horse was a beautiful sight, she always liked the peppermints which she got before the ride. The first step is to get her from her stall, then brush her hair which feels like wire, and put on her soft little blanket, the saddle, and especially her harness, and the reins. My teacher trusted me to keep control of the horse. I was starting to get up onto the horse, but furthermore I didn't keep a hold onto the reins. The horse ran away with me on her. She was fast and was running towards an unknown place. I could hear her hooves onto the stone while she cantered and the sound of the speeding cold wind blowing past my face. I was scared but I knew I couldn't stay on the horse. As a result I had to jump off and I felt the dirty pebbles on the palm of my hands as I landed. I was shocked. The horse soon stopped and my teacher and mom came out to get the horse and check on me. We went back into the ring and my teacher told me to always have my hands tightly on the reins whenever I got onto a horse or whenever I was dealing with a horse. We proceeded with the lesson and therefore I learned my lesson that day. As a result ever since that day has happened, I always tightly hold my reins and double check every time.

In this essay I wrote about my horse running away. Before I wasn't holding the reins when I was supposed to. It was a startling event. I was worried about what I was going to do while she was running. My teacher told me very important information. We went on with the lesson, but I was especially unsure of being in control with the horse alone because I thought it could happen again.
