Adalyn had lived in St. Louis her whole life. She was proud of her city. She loved the Gateway Arch, Forest Park, and the striking Cathedral Basilica of St. Louis. Adalynn's most favorite thing about the city, however, was the City Museum. From the life-sized whale that greeted visitors as they entered, to the elaborate cave system, and the jungle gym attached to the outside of the building, the museum was truly a one-of-a-kind place. A plan had finally fallen into place. Adalyn had told her mother that she and Atticus would sleep at their grandmother's house that night. She didn't like telling lies, but she had always wanted to spend the night in the museum. It wasn't going to hurt anyone. She and Atticus would be safe inside the building, and they would return home the next day. Their mom would be none the wiser. Adalyn hadn't told Atticus the plan. She knew he would blow their cover. Atticus was such a teddy bear. He was also an open book. Atticus was as honest as they came and hated to lie. Adalyn knew this was a great
