Mary was a 30 year old woman who lived in the middle of the city. She was very kind and had a great personality. She worked as a software engineer in a big tech company. One day as she was leaving for office, a poor and hungry   lad approached her begging for a glass of water. She took pity on him and instead of giving him a glass of water, gave him a glass of milk and some biscuits. He thanked her profusely and left.

20 years later, Mary had a heart attack. She was rushed to the hospital where she was informed that she had some complications in her aorta and they needed to operate on it surgically. After the operation, she called the nurse aside and told her that she couldn't afford the treatment. The nurse asked her not to worry as her hospital bill had already been cleared by her doctor. Mary was couldn't believe her ears and asked to meet the doctor.

The doctor came in with a smile on his face and said " Do you remember me? 20 years ago I came to your door asking for water, you helped me a lot. Here I am today. I paid your hospital bill to return the favor."

Mary couldn't help but smile. One selfless deed always sparks another.

It pays to be kind to strangers.
