If they’re thin, they belong to a butterfly. A moth’s feelers are usually broad and feathery. Next, observe the insect when it’s resting. Butterflies’ wings are folded in an upright position, with the wings undersides facing you. A moth sits holding its wings horizontally, with only the upper sides of the wings showing.
