Well, yes, it is. If you correct a person's accent who is of different ethnicity, nationality or has different culture is classism. Correcting them is a sign of us thinking to be superior of them. Though, don't confuse it to correcting their pronunciation. Like if they pronounce Timetable as TEE.ME.TAI.BUL rather than TAI.M.TAE.BLE it's perfectly fine..but not accent. But most importantly, the intentions matter the most.
