The young fawn, so like a timid child, stood close by its mother, wanting to dart out and explore the new surroundings, but fearful of leaving the only safety he knew. as the doe moved out of the trees to look for food, the fawn, like a small child clinging tightly to his mother's hand, stayed close to her. then suddenly, the fawn saw the fresh green grass and a whole new world of strange and colorful things. the fawn darted forward like a child who has just entered a wonderland of toys and sweets and fairy tales, no longer afraid, no longer clinging to his mother. for a moment the fawn hesitated as a strange sound rang through the woods. unlike the child who becomes engulfed in wonder, the fawn's instincts made him cautious. select the ways in which the fawn is like the child. (can be more than one) instinctively cautious clings to its mother holds its mother's hand loses fear when it sees new, wonderful things
