A violent, unpredictable flooding of my local river would change the way I live because it would affect the function of the river to the community.

If my local river gets flooded, it would mean that the water has went beyond the river banks, and it would render it unsafe for activities such as fishing, swimming, washing, even going there for a picnic.

It would greatly alter the way residents use the river.
