Explanation:

Proteins are polypeptides. This means they are made up of chains of amino acids bound together by peptide bonds. There are 20 amino acids, different combinations of which make proteins with a huge variety of structures and properties.

The sequence of amino acids is determined by the sequence of our DNA, which is transcribed into RNA, before being translated into a polypeptide sequence which eventually becomes a protein.
