Almost 17 years ago i had a vp shunt placed in due to brain hemorrhage. i've had it all my life and the doctors said that the surgery is risky. but what are the risks? would it be better to leave it alone? i've tried to google the risks but can't get any facts that i know are true. i want to get surgery so i can finally be able to play sports and not have to constantly worry about getting hit on my head or having to explain to everyone i meet as to why they can't touch my head (due to me being protective and not wanting to risk them smacking my shunt.)
