According to article 3 the shays insurgents were fighting for liberty and also because they were not given proper compensation which lead to a large scale of them falling into poverty after fighting in the revolutionary wars. while the political leaders saw this as dangerous to Government,security of  life and liberty.The Rebellion leaders like Thomas Jefferson an  ex-Revolutionary  war veteran on the side of the rebellion thought  that 'a little rebellion here and there' is good for the Government to be healthy
