These laws were passed by around 30+ states which required Americanization programs and under these programs the Chamber of commerce was the one which had the responsibility to organize classes of English language as well as American Civics in many cities from these 30 states. There were even many factories which co-operated this movement.  

Even there were schools which supported this movement and these schools used to operate after Classes. Labor unions used to help their workers to make out citizenship papers. The efforts in order to Americanization movement were much more beyond education and teaching English.  

A number of Americans had fear if increase of number of Immigrants in the country and they thought that these immigrants were a threat to the political system of United States. The attitude of people of America towards Immigrants changed after increasing role of United States in the world.
