Imagine you’re going to give a speech in front of the pope just before the start of the Protestant reformation. Your speech is meant to warn him about the challenges that will soon confront the Roman Catholic Church. Your speech should explain which of the reformations causes you think that the church has control over and which it doesn’t. It should also offer advice on how to handle the issues the Catholic Church does have control over. Your advice should be supported by actual historical events from before, during, and even after the Protestant reformation that you have learned about in this lesson
