Following the introduction of the Declaration of Independence, Jefferson lists a series of grievances and complaints against the British king that illustrates how the Crown is not living up to the expectations and ideas of how the government should be, instead, he claims that "the history of the present King of Great Britain is a history of repeated injuries and usurpations, all having in direct object the establishment of an absolute Tyranny over these States."
