Sumeria was the oldest civilization on planet Earth. They settled in the middle of the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers. The form of government was that they established powerful city-states that rivaled one another. We are talking about city-states such as Nippur, Eridu, Kish, Ur, Lagash, and Uruk. These city-states had their own strict rulers that most of the time operated under the influence of their gods. The main building was the Ziggurat, a different type of structure compared to the traditional pyramid.

The Sumerian economy was based on agriculture, They learned to take advantage of the flooding of the rivers and the fertile soil to grow all kinds of crops.  

On the other hand, the ancient Egyptian civilization settled in the banks of the Nile River in the North of Africa. They were ruled by a Pharohnic system in which the Pharaoh was the most important figure in Egypt, They did not establish city-states, The Pharaoh ruled the entire land.

Pharaohs used to sent their armies to conquer other lands and get slaves that were used as servants.

They had a strict social hierarchy in which the Pharaoh was at the top of the pyramid, followed by the priests.

The Egyptian economy was based on agriculture. They also learned to grow crops in the fertile banks of the Nile. They build impressive pyramids in the Cairo plateau.
